21/02/2012 Spinal Injury - Do we have to operate?

This will be delivered by Dr Hannes Bergmann DrVetMed DipECVS MRCVS

Intervertebral disk disease is a relatively common presentation in general practice. Degeneration of intervertebral disks may result in protrusion or extrusion of disk material into the spinal canal, causing spinal cord compression.

Clinical signs ranging from apparent pain to complete transverse myelopathy. The decision to treat a spinal cord compression conservatively or surgically depends on the degree of neurological deficits.

This lecture will cover how to approach these cases systematically, and will describe details of non-surgical and surgical treatment options.

           7.30 for Buffet. 8.00 - 9.30pm lecture

Cost: Single Lecture - £5 per person from a Vets Now member Practice or Referring Practice, £10 per person from all other practices.

           To book simply call 01793 603 800

17 & 18/05/2012 Crieff 2 Day Small Animal CPD Meeting, Perthshire, Scotland

Vets Now are pleased to announce that we are delivering a brand new 2 Day Small Animal CPD Meeting in association with Elanco Companion Animal Health & Vets2.net.

The meeting will be held at Crieff Hydro Hotel, Perthshire, Scotland on the 17th & 18th May 2012.

This will be the first time Vets Now has delivered a 2 day meeting in Scotland but we hope to build on the success of our Harrogate Congress.

There will be two lecture streams focussing on a variety of small animal medicine topics for general practitioners, with flexible access for vets and VNs. There will also be a dedicated workshop stream where delegates can enjoy case based interactive sessions.

Other Events (UK and International)

Great Western Exotic Vets not only put on training events at the hospital in Swindon, for various Universities, but are also regularly called upon to talk on a national and international basis, within their recognsed fields of expertise. We find that many vets and veterinary nurses are interested to know at which events are staff will be speaking.
