Dr Fiona Froehlich

Dr Fiona Froehlich Vets NowFiona is from the city of Vienna in Austria, where she graduated from university in 2010. During her studies she specialised in conservation medicine and completed courses in exotic and zoo animal medicine. She has spent time at both Vienna Zoo and Budapest Zoo and has participated in wildlife projects with Chamois in Austria and Elephants in Indonesia, including attending several zoo, exotic and small animal conferences worldwide.

Fiona moved to the UK in 2011 where she then practiced in a busy, small animal clinic whilst working towards an exotic post graduate certificate – CertGP(Exotic). She joined Vets Now Referrals in February 2014 when she started her internship at Great Western Exotics, and she is now one of our three Residents in avian medicine. In January 2015 Fiona successfully gained her GPCert(ExAP) and continues her GWE Residency. She now works alongside Neil Forbes and Tom Dutton in accepting and treating avian and exotic referrals. Fiona is currently involved in several research and publishing projects and will be presenting numerous CPD lectures on behalf of Great Western Exotics.

She loves working with all different species of exotic animals from tortoises and bearded dragons, to parrots and small mammals. In her spare time, Fiona likes to keep fit through various sporting activities and enjoys travelling within the UK and Europe.
