Dr Ashton Hollwarth

Exotic Veterinary Surgeon and Advanced Practitioner in Zoological Medicine

Ashton graduated from Murdoch University in Western Australia after working extensively with exotics as an undergraduate. During her time at university, she spent time in exotic practices throughout Australia and volunteered with wildlife in South Africa and Cambodia. She moved to the UK in 2016 where she worked with small animals and exotics. Ashton joined the team at Great Western Exotics in 2018 and completed her ECZM avian residency in 2022. 

Ashton gained her Certificate of Advanced Veterinary Practice in Zoological Medicine through the University of Edinburgh in 2020 and became an Advanced Practitioner in Zoological Medicine in 2021. She gained membership by examination to the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Surgeons chapter of Avian Medicine and Surgery in 2022. She is a regular contributor to a number of veterinary publications and has been invited to peer review for several veterinary journals. Ashton has an interest in avian anaesthesia, reptile wound management and parrot behaviour.
