Dom is one of our ECZM avian residents, which he started in January 2021 after completing an 18-month exotics clinical internship with us. Dom qualified in 2015 from the University of Nottingham School of Veterinary Medicine and Science. Since qualifying he has worked in small animal and exotics clinics, gaining experience with small animal, exotic companion and zoo species, before moving solely into exotics work 2 years ago. Dom completed his General Practitioner Certificate in Exotic Animal Practice with the International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies in 2019 and is currently in the process of completing his Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (Zoological Medicine) with the University of Edinburgh. Dom has presented at an international level and is currently leading a research project looking into CPR medicine in avian species. Dom's clinical interests include emergency and critical care (ECC) of exotics species medicine and oncology, as well as improving accessibility of exotic species care within the wider veterinary industry.
