Dr Tom Dutton


Dr Tom Dutton Vets Now SwindonTom graduated from Edinburgh University in 2011. After finishing his veterinary degree he completed a one year rotating internship and worked extensively with exotic species (raptors and reptiles in particular), before starting his Residency in Avian Medicine at Great Western Exotics (GWE) in May 2012. In January 2014 Tom successfully gained his RCVS CertAVP (ZooMed) and completed his Residency in Avian Medicine in 2015. He now works alongside Neil Forbes in accepting and treating avian and exotic referrals.Tom regularly provides lectures on all aspects of exotic animal medicine and care to both veterinarians and the general public. He also enjoys teaching, working closely with University students and veterinary externs who spend time studying at our Swindon Hospital.

Tom has articles regularly published in the veterinary press and is conducting a number of research projects, with studies investigating ‘viral infections in falcons’ and ‘parrot cholesterol’ taking up the majority of his time away from clinics.
